Chrissy Teigen's son gets treatment for infected bite she thought was a splinter

Chrissy Teigen has revealed that her and John Legend's son Miles required medical attention for an infected bite he got when the family were on a trip overseas.

The model, 36, told her 36.3 million Instagram followers that she originally thought her three-year-old had a splinter but later discovered it was actually an infection.

She uploaded an image of her son wearing a face mask, blue tracksuit, hooded coat and red boots sitting in a doctor's office in what looks to be the UK.

She was full of praise of universal healthcare in her caption as she wrote: "Bear got a little bite that got infected.

"We thought it was a deep splinter but ultrasound showed nothing! Anyhoo he is all good!"

She added: "He got a little bite on his booty that was looking infected! My bear. He's all good now!"

Chrissy went on to gush over the healthcare her son received: "And the visit was free. It always feels like a trick. But it is not. It is simply universal healthcare. It is beautiful when a country sees value in its people being healthy and financially safe from insurmountable healthcare debt. we should try it someday."

She later commented back on those who slammed her for calling the service free. She wrote: "'It isn’t FREE, it’s paid for by taxes' - I know that.

"I’m saying we pay high taxes and insurance up the a** and still have to pay for healthcare. And yeah, we have money and didn’t have to pay. It’s not like there was a tip jar. Or a jar that said 'celebrities pay here'."

Stylist Karla Welch was among those commenting on her post bigging up the health service. She wrote: "It’s truly amazing. Not without flaws but certainly more pros than cons.

"I’ll never understand the fight by so many, who would only benefit from this system, to not have it."

Many others took to the comments to wish Miles a clean bill of health.

One wrote: "This is definitely an NHS waiting area. Hope all is well."

Another penned: "Gosh. Take care."

Earlier in the week the Lip Sync Battle star shared snaps of the family enjoying a pre-festive trip to Blighty.

Among the sweet snaps included a shot of a children and one of herself walking by a post office in an English village. She captioned the photos, "Missing teeth, marshmallows, pg tips [tea], lentil soup, late night noodles and very cold strolls!"
