Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s daughter Luna meets ballet dancer Misty Copeland

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s daughter Luna is living the good life. Over the weekend, the three-year-old accomplished every small child’s dream (and, okay, mine too) of dancing with Misty Copeland.

It all started when the Legend family decided to get into the holiday spirit by watching Copeland perform in American Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. Copeland, of course, is known for being the first African American female dancer promoted to the rank of principal (the highest title within the company) at American Ballet Theatre.

That’s exciting enough on its own, but Luna doesn’t mess around. As Teigen shared on social media, she insisted on copying her hero’s onstage look - complete with matching pink leotard, skirt, ballet slippers and slicked back bun.

Before Luna got to the theater Teigen shared a quick video of her daughter snacking on chips and guacamole (further solidifying this as the best day ever). After watching Copeland and company in The Nutcracker, Luna got to head backstage post-show.

From Teigen’s twitter posts, it appears that Luna was a bit overwhelmed upon first seeing Copeland, deciding to hide out under a chair.

But in no time, she was running around backstage with her dad and the dancer.

She even got to pose for a photo.

Since Copeland’s history-making promotion in 2015, she’s used her platform to help further diversity in the ballet world as well as to champion charitable organizations. One such project with Naked juice and the non-profit Wholesome Wave saw Copeland working with Legend just last year, which just might be how Luna got her in. Either way, consider this our official request to join Luna and Copeland next year.
