Singer Chrissie Hynde said she is “absolutely heartbroken” as she searches for her “very dear” dog, who went missing over two weeks ago.
The Pretenders frontwoman, 74, has issued multiple appeals to social media for the safe return of her five-year-old jack russell cross Nico, who was last seen in a park in London.
Hynde shared a photo of her beloved dog to Instagram on Thursday as she made her latest plea, and wrote: “Can anyone in Great Britain tell me of the whereabouts of my little dog Nico?
“I don’t know if someone has fallen in love with her and is harbouring her in their home?
“Or maybe someone has grabbed her and using her for some malicious purpose…?
“Or maybe she’s been knocked over by a car and is lying in a bush, dying.
“Please, please, please if anyone has seen her at all, can you let me know?”
Hynde previously shared an appeal on Wednesday, in which she described her dog as “very dear to me” and said she is “absolutely heartbroken”.
She said Nico was last seen near the entrance to Silkstream Park in Colindale just over two weeks ago, and urged her followers not to chase the dog if they spot her “as she might be very nervous”.
The singer also described the dog as having a “tan coat with white markings” and “wearing a black collar with a silver tag” in a previous plea to “help us bring her home”.
Hynde is best known for founding rock band Pretenders in 1978, and is the lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter of the chart-topping group.
She leads the current line-up alongside drummers Martin Chambers and Kris Sonne, and guitarist James Walbourne.
The group are famed for hits such as Brass In Pocket, Talk Of The Town and Don’t Get Me Wrong, and have achieved multiple Grammy nominations, one UK number one single and a chart-topping album.
The Pretenders were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
