Speculation linking Chris Wood to Newcastle came out of the blue last week but the Burnley striker could offer Eddie Howe a brand new dynamic.
While it may not be the most eye catching signing, the Burnley striker boast an impressive record in the Premier League.
The New Zealand international has three goals for the Clarets so far this season, in a Burnley side that sits just above Newcastle in the relegation zone.

The 30-year-old has managed double figures in the Premier League, every season since arriving at Turf Moor, a run stretching back to 2017-18.
The most lucrative of those coming in 2019-20, chipping in with 14 goals as Burnley secured a top-half finish.
Last year, Wood scored 12 goals in the Premier League, the same amount as Callum Wilson - who finished the Magpies top goalscorer.
The Clarets striker currently leads the Premier League charts for aerial battles with 93 successful duels - former Newcastle forward Ivan Toney lies in second place with 83.
Wood would bring a different dynamic to the Newcastle attack - if they are to make an approach.
Kieran Trippier's delivery from open play and set pieces, combined with Wood's aerial prowess, would give Eddie Howe's side a real threat going forward.
Comparing Wood's stats to the current Newcastle squad makes for interesting reading.
The Burnley striker has won 37 more duels than Joelinton - the player with the most aerial duels at Newcastle on 56.
You would like to think that Newcastle would create more attacking opportunities for Wood - if he were to move to Tyneside - than his current Burnley side, but the Premier League table might suggest otherwise.
However, Sean Dyche's side are not interested in selling either Wood or James Tarkowski to the Magpies, according to the latest reports, with them a direct rival in Burnley's bid for Premier League survival.
