Chris Wilder on Sheffield United's key qualities which helped Blades pip Leeds United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has opened up on the key qualities his side have shown to all-but earn themselves promotion to the Premier League.

Whilst Leeds United have suffered back to back blows to lose control of their own destiny, the Blades have almost secured promotion to the top tier.

Despite the majority of the squad having more League One experience, Wilder has overseen a fantastic campaign for the men from South Yorkshire.

That was highlighted in a composed 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday evening which put the Blades almost over the promotion line.

Leeds United are now six points adrift of Sheffield United with two games remaining, with the Blades holding a ten-goal advantage in the goal difference stakes.

It means that Sheffield United are all-but there and Wilder reacted post-match following the critical win at Bramall Lane.

'They earned it - now we must get momentum back' Leeds United fans react as play-offs all-but confirmed

"We should have been a Championship club and we were a long time out of it. Now we have taken a huge step towards being where we want to be.

"Honest hard work, being competitive and working together has been the key. The majority of the boys have played mostly in League One but now they might get the chance to play in the Premier League.
