Pundit Tony Cascarino believes Chris Wilder is good enough to land another Premier League as he gets set to depart Sheffield United.
But the former Celtic striker believes the 53-year-old would be the perfect man to revolutionize the Parkhead side as they continue their search for a next boss.
Wilder has been a smash-hit with the Blades during a brilliant five years in the Steel City but is set to become a free agent with United cut adrift after a nightmare second season in the top tier of English football.
Celtic's search for Neil Lennon's replacement goes on with principal shareholder Dermot Desmond tipped to secure a big name as they look to instantly hit back at rivals Rangers.
And Cascarino is in no doubt that his close friend would be shrewd appointment if he made the move to Glasgow ahead of next season after leaving United.
Speaking on the Jim White Show, Cascarino said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if a Premier League club came in for him, I really wouldn’t.
“Celtic is a typical club that Chris Wilder could regenerate. That atmosphere, that battling - he builds football clubs and that’s what he’s done over the years.”
