Chris Wilder makes clarification over Everton star Muhamed Besic's Sheffield United loan

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has clarified that Muhamed Besic has no break clause in his loan contract after moving from Everton in the summer.

The midfielder had been struggling for consistent game time this term at Bramall Lane, but has seen his influence grow over recent weeks.

The Blues loanee started in his side's FA Cup clash with Millwall on Saturday and opened the scoring with a delightful left-footed effort as Sheffield United won 2-0.

There have been suggestions United should consider making the switch a permanent one, but the manager has revealed there is no break in the Everton midfielder's loan deal as things currently stand.

Wilder told the Sheffield Star: "Yes, there’s no break in his contract in this window. It’s only if someone wants to come in to sign him permanently.

"I actually didn’t think it was one of Mo’s better performances [against Millwall]. But then he scored and he came alive, which was great.

"He had to pull something out of the bag, as the board was up and a change was in the offing. He (Besic) might have have a little peek over and thought ‘I might have to do something here to keep on the pitch.’

"His performance, overall though, was good. It was a great goal and he’s a popular boy."

Besic will have one year left to run on his current contract at Goodison Park at the end of his loan spell with Sheffield United.
