Chris Wilder makes Bristol Rovers prediction after narrow FA Cup win for Sheffield United

Chris Wilder was full of praise for Bristol Rovers and Paul Tisdale after they ran Sheffield United close in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Gas came from behind twice at the Mem on Saturday, with Alfie Kilgour and Max Ehmer cancelling out a Joe Day own goal and Oli Burke's cool finish either side of half time.

Jayden Bogle stroked home the decisive goal to secure a 3-2 win for the Premier League side, their first victory in any competition after a miserable start to the season.

Relieved Blades boss Wilder spoke glowingly of the Gas at full time and believes they will finish the season strongly.

"They’ve got some talented footballers," he told Bristol Live. "The pitch here is in good nick. They wanted to play and we wanted to play as well.

"They’ve got some threats in the two boys at the top of the pitch and they played a diamond, so they overloaded in good positions and it was always going to be a dangerous game for us as a Premier League team coming here in the form that we’re in.

"I’ve been here before when it’s packed and I know how difficult it is with the supporters, especially behind this goal.

"I’ve known Paul for a long time and he’s had a great amount of success at Exeter. He’s a good guy and he works ever so hard.

"I’m sure results will be consistent as they have been over the past two or three weeks."
