Chris Wilder finally lands Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun as Middlesbrough confirm loan deal

By Simon Collings

Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun has joined Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.

The England Under-21 international had been keen to get more first-team action and Arsenal had received plenty of loan offers.

Middlesbrough have won the race for Balogun, however, after convincing the youngster to head up north.

Boro boss Chris Wilder is a big fan of Balogun and tried to sign him when he was in charge of Sheffield United.

The pair will now finally get to work together and Wilder is excited about what Balogun can offer in the Championship.

“We’re delighted to get Flo in,” said Wilder. “He’s a player I’ve known about for a long time and we identified him as someone who could come in and improve us in the second half of the season.

“He has great movement, good pace, and he’s a natural finisher. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
