Chris Webber sells Malibu home at a loss

Dec. 12--Chris Webber, the five-time NBA All-Star turned basketball analyst, has sold his home in the Big Rock area of Malibu for $3.485 million.

Webber purchased the home in 2007 for $3.75 million, public records show. He had asked for as much as $3.995 million for the property earlier this year.

The single-story Contemporary, designed for indoor-outdoor living, features telescoping glass doors, a lap pool and an entertainer's deck on about three-quarters of an acre, set off by 180-degree views of the coastline.

Clad in wood flooring and wall paneling, interiors include a formal living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, an office, a den, three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,910 square feet. The master suite, with wall-to-ceiling glass and electronic shades, has a large bathroom and a walk-in closet.

Webber, a member of Michigan's "Fab Five" in the early 1990s, was the No.1 pick in the 1993 draft. The 41-year-old played for the Warriors, Wizards and Kings, among other NBA teams, over the course of 15 seasons. He currently works as an analyst for Turner Sports.

Ellen Francisco of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent. Amy Young of Sotheby's International Realty represented the buyer in the sale, which closed Thursday.
