Chris Taylor admits he wants to marry Maura Higgins but they argue about when

Chris Taylor didn't duck a question about marriage after fans quizzed Love Island star Maura Higgins about the future.

However, they both had different ideas about when they would like to get married.

The Irish beauty held a Q&A on Instagram on New Year's Day - and a potential hand grenade was thrown.

The pair only confirmed they were a couple back on November after weeks and weeks of speculation.

The duo, who both starred in the 2019 series of the ITV2 show, both shared the same picture of themselves cuddling to their to announced the happy news.

But one fan got a little overexcited.

They asked when they are going to get married - and she re-posted it on her Story.

"When are we getting married, Chris?" Maura asked her surprised boyfriend.

"Oh God, erm.... next year?" the ambushed 30-year-old replied.

"Like, as in this year?" she quizzed, remembering that it's now 2021.

"No, next year," Chris came back, quickly.

"That's ages!" Maura moaned as they sat on the sofa reading the messages.

"OK, this year," Chris said. He relented with a very worried look on his face.

Before that awkward question, Chris got into his girlfriend's good books when they were asked what annoys them most about the other person.

"Nothing annoys me about you," he said.

But Maura laughed because she had an answer for this one.

She said: "Chris gets very angry when he's hungry!"

The loverbirds were on the same series of Love Island but were never coupled up on the show.

She was matched with Curtis Pritchard and they stayed in a relationship for several months after leaving the villa in fourth place.

Chris left the show with Harley Brash but they were never an official couple.
