Manchester City have already smashed the British transfer record once this window, but will have to do it again if they are to secure their fourth Premier League title in five seasons.
That is at least, according to former Blackburn striker and Premier League winner Chris Sutton, who thinks signing Harry Kane would seal City's status as favourites for the title... but that they won't win the title without him.
Kane has been touted with a move to the Etihad all summer and caused quite the stir last week when reports emerged he had allegedly refused to turn up to Tottenham training in a bid to force through a transfer to City.
The striker has since claimed it was always the plan to return to training this week.

City are one of the few clubs on the continent that could even consider making a move for Kane, though even they are struggling to meet Spurs chief Daniel Levy's valuation of Spurs' main man.
Levy wants at least £150million for the England captain, a fee that if City were to pay would see Kane become the most expensive British footballer in history, meaning £100m man Jack Grealish would hold that title for less than a month.
Though the price tag slapped on Kane by Spurs is eye-watering to say the least, Sutton believes it could be the difference between first and second for City this season.
According to the BBC Pundit, Sutton thinks City will struggle to recreate last season's heroics after cruising to the title without playing a recognised striker for much of the campaign.
Where will Kane play his football next season? Have your say here.
"If Harry Kane goes to Manchester City, then he is the perfect fit for them and I would fancy them," Sutton explained.
"If he doesn't, I think Chelsea will nick it, because they are getting Romelu Lukaku.
"I don't think City will win the title without signing a centre-forward. I know they won it last season largely playing without one, which was remarkable.
"I don't see it happening again."
