Chris Sutton revels in Odsonne Edouard impact as Celtic legend demands 'who is Mickey Mouse now?' and offers goal prediction

Chris Sutton says there's nothing "Mickey Mouse" about the SPFL - and Odsonne Edouard 's flying start to life at Crystal Palace proves it.

Sutton was left beaming when the former Celtic star emerged from the bench against Spurs and netted twice in a six-minute debut cameo.

The Parkhead hero has championed the Scottish game throughout his punditry career and has wasted no time in rubbing Edouard's success in the face of Scottish football's detractors.

It was Robbie Savage taking the brunt of his ribbing as Sutton spoke on BBC Five Live.

In his SAS segment - where he names his favourite sensational, amusing and shocking moments in football every week - Sutton cited Edouard's impactful debut as the funniest part of the weekend.

And he predicted he'll net about 70 goals for Palace this season if he keeps up that electric form.

"I loved this yesterday. I did laugh, I did chortle.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world? And the Scottish league is a pub league, dog and duck, farmer's league? A laughing stock to many people down south?

"We saw Odsonne Edouard transfer down from the pub league to Crystal Palace. He came on for six minutes against Spurs and he scored twice!

"At this rate he will score 70 goals this season!

"Who's 'Mickey Mouse' now? I love the Premier League, the richest league in the world, but I also love the Scottish league.

"It's a great product that deserves just a little bit of respect."
