Chris Sutton responds to Michael Beale 'comedy act' claim as Celtic hero revisits Pedro Caixinha quip

Chris Sutton has issued his response to Michael Beale branding his punditry as a 'comedy act'.

The Celtic hero has thrown the Rangers gaffer's barb back at him after Sutton seemed to question Beale's tenacity following that moment of sportsmanship between the Light Blues and Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup. The English gaffer allowed the Jags to get a free hit at Ibrox with the decision splitting opinion among top pundits and even fans.

And Beale was less than impress with the former Parkhead hitman's comments, also adding Sutton to be the 'worst' player to ever play for Chelsea. But the pundit has fired right back making reference to former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha's analogy used to attempt to ally concerns from fans about his stint in Glasgow.

Sutton said on Twitter: "The dog barks but the caravan keeps moving on??

Beale said when asked about Sutton's question if he would show an act of sportsmanship against rivals Celtic: "I don’t even want to answer that question because they are comedy acts and they are there to create intrigue. They don’t speak about the betterment of the game, they don’t help our game at all.

“All they do is bring it back down to the gutter. There are a lot of good things we can speak about in our game at the moment, at other clubs as much as in my club."
