Chris Sutton says he feels sorry for summer Celtic signing Shin Yamada.
The striker was introduced for the final 25 minutes of his side's goalless draw at Ibrox last weekend.
Then, when Celtic's 24-man squad was named for their upcoming Europa League fixtures a few days later, Yamada was omitted, along with fellow summer arrivals Callum Osmand, Hayato Inamura, and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey.

New signing Kelechi Iheanacho made the cut, alongside Johnny Kenny and Daizen Maeda, as Brendan Rodgers' striking options.
Sutton can't help but have sympathy for Yamada. He said [RecordSport]: "Why are four of the summer signings not in the Europa League squad?
"That says it all. Shin Yamada comes off the bench at Ibrox while Johnny Kenny isn’t in the squad but the roles are reversed days later.
"I feel sorry for Yamada. I don’t think he’s a world beater, but he’s shown signs he could be useful.
"Now he’s been caught in the crossfire. Someone will have to explain the Jahmai Simpson-Pusey signing to me because that situation is another head scratcher.
"He’s at Celtic to get big match experience – not to sit at home when the team is playing in Europe.
"This is not connected – it’s disjointed."
Celtic return to action next Sunday as they travel to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership.
