Chris Sutton meets his match over Rangers prediction as Micah Richards gives Celtic hero 'nonsense' ribbing

Celtic hero Chris Sutton met his match on Monday night as grinning Micah Richards called him out for some pre-season predictions that haven't come off.

The former Parkhead striker claimed Neil Lennon's side, as they were at the time, would complete their run to 10 In A Row.

But after Steven Gerrard's Rangers completed an unbeaten Premiership campaign that delivered a first top flight title in 10 years, former Manchester City star Richards decided to rub it in.

He claimed Sutton's prediction turned out to be "nonsense" as he spoke on the BBC's Monday Night Club show.

Richards said: "You know what Chris is like.

"Every time he is on, he’s giving it the big one.

"His mouth is always going on it, and he said at the start of the season, Rangers will do nothing. They’ve won nothing and they’ll be nothing."

Sutton backed up his previous claims and insisted he was just making an educated guess, given the Parkhead dominance of the preceding nine years.

He replied: "That’s called a prediction, Micah."

But the jovial pundit had the last laugh with a cutting put-down: "It’s called nonsense."
