Chris Sutton makes Manchester United point as he gives his Brighton vs West Ham prediction

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton reckons West Ham could find themselves back in trouble in the Premier League against Brighton this weekend.

The Hammers make the trip to the south coast for their next Premier League fixture on Saturday, with West Ham looking to try and bounce back from a 3-1 defeat against Manchester United in midweek as David Moyes' men exited the FA Cup at the fifth round stage.

West Ham did win in the league last weekend, beating Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the London Stadium to move out of the bottom three. But they face a tough task this weekend against a Brighton side in good form and currently seventh in the Premier League.

And Sutton reckons the Seagulls will come out on top at the Amex Stadium as he predicted a 3-1 win for Brighton in his weekly predictions feature for the BBC website.

The ex-Chelsea forward, who is predicting a 2-1 home win in his BBC Sport column, said: "West Ham went with a strong team on Wednesday and gave Manchester United a scare in the FA Cup.

"The Hammers' win over Nottingham Forest last weekend was really encouraging too and Danny Ings, who was cup-tied for the trip to Old Trafford, will be back after scoring twice in that game.

"So, I can see this being a close game, but I am still backing Brighton to win it because of their consistency - they always seem to play well."
