Chris Sutton jabs reeling Rangers over 'Simply the Best' pre-match boast

Chris Sutton says Rangers "don't learn" after getting off their bus to 'Simply the Best' before losing to Celtic.

The Tina Turner hit is an Ibrox anthem and kitman Jimmy Bell started the tradition of playing the song as the players leave the team bus.

Sutton has previously criticised the tradition, noting that "They won't be playing Tina Turner on the coach home" after Pedro Caixinha's side were beaten in the Betfred Cup semi-final in 2017.

Following his former side's 1-0 win at Hampden this afternoon, the Record Sport columnist couldn't resist a wee dig at Rangers.

Sutton wrote "they don't learn Tina Turner" as he alluded to his previous comments about the song being played before games.

Steven Gerrard's side had the better of the match but were beaten by Christopher Jullien 's second half goal.

Celtic lifted their 10th domestic trophy in a row despite being reduced to 10 men after Jeremie Frimpong's red card.

The youngster gave away a penalty in the same incident but Alfredo Morelos missed from the spot, with Neil Lennon's side hanging on to win the League Cup for a fourth season in a row.
