Chris Sutton in Alfredo Morelos red card jibe as Odsonne Edouard debate rages on

Chris Sutton insists Odsonne Edouard is better than Alfredo Morelos because of his derby record.

The Celtic legend and Record Sport columnist reckons the current Parkhead hitman has the edge and, as well as his goals, reckons Morelos ' red card record also counts against him.

The Colombian is yet to score against the Hoops but the Rangers striker was sent off at Celtic Park in March.

He is yet to see red this season and has improved his disciplinary record but Sutton believes Edouard will still have the edge until Morelos does it against Celtic.

On BT Sport he was asked to declare who was better and said:

“It has to be Edouard doesn’t it. He does it in the big games.”

That drew a questioning look from host Robbie Savage and Sutton added: “What’s the frown for? Come on then. Edouard: five in seven against Rangers.

“What’s Morelos got against Celtic? He’s got more red cards against Celtic than goals Rob.”

So far this season Edouard has netted 11 goals in 19 appearances while Morelos has scored 16 in 21 matches, including a goal in the midweek draw with Porto in the Europa League.
