Chris Sutton grills Ally McCoist over Ryan Kent Rangers form as heroes clash ahead of derby

Chris Sutton says Ryan Kent has had his head turned over a potential move away from Rangers - much to the dismay of Ally McCoist.

The two pundits were speaking on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra ahead of Sunday's first Old Firm Derby of the season.

Celtic travel to Ibrox looking to put an early dent in their rivals' defence of the Premiership title.

It could go either way with Ange Postecoglou's team scoring goals for fun while Rangers look more vulnerable than they have since before the pandemic - particularly with a number of key players out.

One of those may well be Kent, who missed the trip to Alashkert during the week following a Covid outbreak among the squad.

He was one of Rangers' star players last season but his form since the restart has left much to be desired.

And Sutton feels that's because he's 'had his head turned' by talk of a potential move.

McCoist wasn't having that though as the two clashed on the subject.

It started when Sutton said: "He looks like he wants away! It looks like his head’s been turned!"

And McCoist retorted: "I’ll ignore that! He’s the one player who’s got something different in that Rangers team."

But Sutton countered: "Why’s he not been performing so far though? Does he want away? I’m going to keep asking you!”
