Chris Sutton delivers cheeky 'surprise surprise' verdict as Rangers contact SFA

Celtic hero Chris Sutton has fired a cheeky dig at Rangers after the Ibrox club were left "bemused" by their disallowed goal in the recent derby and have stated they will demand VAR answers from the SFA.

The Hoops ran out 1-0 winners at Ibrox after a first-half stoppage-time goal from Kyogo Furuhashi.

However, it was the officials' decision to overturn Kemar Roofe's goal which has dominated the debate.

The Rangers striker thought he had opened the scoring but referee Don Robertson was called over to the pitchside monitor by VAR official Alan Muir to review the decision.

After a delay, Roberston overturned the goal, stating Cyriel Dessers fouled Gustaf Lagerbielke in the build-up.

This has reportedly left the Ibrox side "bemused" and they have contacted the governing body looking for answers.

Sutton reacted to the news with a cheeky quip, tweeting: "Surprise surprise."

The former Parkhead striker also continued his recent spat with Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell.

He made a TikTok related joke about his fellow Englishman which reignited a back-and-forth the two men have been having over the last couple of months.

Sutton tweeted: "Won't be much movement on TikTok tonight..."

Back in July, the 50-year-old accused the playmaker of diving in pre-season, saying: "Any pre-season contenders for the Simulation Game yet?"

It came after Cantwell himself tweeted that Sutton was not one of the best pundits in Scotland, leading to the ex-Hoops star responding: "Here is some balanced factual punditry from last season Tik Tok you may not enjoy.

"You joined Rangers on a free from the Championship and lost every meaningful game against Celtic and won nothing."
