Chris Sutton calls out 'big missed chance' for Celtic against 'rank Rangers'

Chris Sutton has branded the goalless draw against Rangers as a "big chance missed" for Celtic.

The pundit reckons his former club didn't do enough to win at Ibrox but called out the inability to beat a "rank Rangers team".

Neither club managed a proper clear-cut chance in the 90-minute stalemate, with Sutton branding both sides "average".

Sutton posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Truth is two average teams.

"Big chance missed for Celtic against a rank Rangers team. Didn’t do enough to win it.

"Nowhere near enough in the final third from Celtic. A lack of combination play and understanding.

"Huge 24 hours for the Celtic recruitment team…"

"In the first half, Celtic failed to have a single shot on goal. It was the first time since November 2017 that they didn't have an attempt in the first half of a Scottish Premiership match. 

Addressing potential incomings, the Celtic manager stated: "We need a number of players in, not just in the centre forward position. 

"I'm hopeful that over the next 24 hours we can get the reinforcements we need in the front line. 

"We miss a profile of player at the top end of the field. The guys that are here, it's about attitude. These games are all games of attitude."
