Chris Sutton baffled by Celtic loyalty claim as he insists 'you CAN'T do that' in plea to Neil Lennon

Chris Sutton admits he's baffled by Neil Lennon 's suggestion he'll remain loyal to Celtic's tried and tested for the Scottish Cup Final.

A Hoops side including fringe men Ismaila Soro, Conor Hazard and David Turnbull have helped turn the under-fire Premiership champions' fortunes in recent weeks.

But with Hampden looming on Sunday, Lennon faces a decision.

He's suggested the players who helped steer Celtic to the brink of a quadruple Treble will be given the chance to complete the job but denied sentimentality will play a part in who gets the nod.

Sutton is adamant the Irishman's head must rule his heart.

He said on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra : "The team selection is the big one at the weekend.

"I don't get Neil Lennon when he's talking about loyalty to players who have played in the competition.

"You CAN'T do that, absolutely can't do that.

"Some of the supporters, their views on the team selection... if he goes back to Brown, goes back to Rogic and he doesn't give the opportunity to Soro and Turnbull after they've played so well, what message does that send?

"What he's done the last couple of games is take a little bit of pressure off himself. A tiny piece of pressure.

"Celtic have built a tiny piece of momentum. That all goes out the window if Soro doesn't play, Turnbull doesn't play and Celtic end up losing the game.

"So, I don't understand this thought process in going down the sentimental route."
