Chris Sutton and Ally McCoist clash over Kyogo Celtic debate as Rangers hero unleashes hilarious 'bang him up' rant

Chris Sutton reckons Ally McCoist is "jealous" of Kyogo Furuhashi - after the Rangers hero unleashed a tongue-in-cheek rant about Ayo Obileye's red card against Celtic.

The Livingston defender saw red in the dying stages of his side's clash with the Hoops last weekend when he swiped a hand towards the striker's face.

There appeared to be minimal contact but Kyogo went down leading to the defender being sent off.

Celtic were awarded a penalty which Giorgios Giakoumakis missed in the 0-0 stalemate.

But McCoist didn't appear to be over it as he unleashed a sarcastic rant on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra.

With a clearly sarcastic tone, Rangers hero McCoist expressed concern for Kyogo 's health - and jokingly called for the Livingston defender to do time behind bars.

McCoist said: "I love Kyogo, but I've got to say, I'm not normally critical...but I've got to criticise the Celtic medical team.

"It was a disgrace, the lack of information that came out over the weekend about Kyogo's health. after that challenge from Livingston.

"It was a shocking challenge. I'm a Rangers man, but I was genuinely concerned about his welfare.

"On that challenge itself, we can't have heard the last of this. I fully expect the Procurator Fiscal, or the director of public prosecution, to get a hold of that centre-back.

"If he's not banged up in one of our high security prisons over the festive period then there's something wrong with Scottish football."

He finished with his voice breaking into a laugh: "Have I made my point?"

Sutton then added his two cents as he accused McCoist of sour grapes over Kyogo, who just notched his 11th Celtic goal against Ferencvaros.

He quipped: "I can see the jealousy oozing out of you, but what a player. He's the best player in Scotland this season, no doubt about that.

"Brilliant piece of business. Three signings from Ange Postecoglou and they're all firing."

Joking aside, however, McCoist concluded with a sincere message that branded Kyogo "a breath of fresh air."

"I do love him. I was having a laugh there, but he's excellent.

"He scored a brilliant goal and he was unlucky with the other one where he went through and tries to dink it over the goalkeeper.

"He's been a breath of fresh air."
