In times like these, we find out what people are made of. There are countless stories of many giving to the cause of those impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis. We already reported on former Ohio State linebacker Chris Spielman’s efforts in stepping up to the cause. He’s auctioning off some of his personal memorabilia, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to those impacted by the tragic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.
On that note, we have some pretty cool news to share. Spielman put up his 1984 Big Ten Championship Ring late last week and raised a whopping $12,000.00. This, of course, made Spiels himself extremely happy.
To make it even sweeter, Spielman later confirmed in a Tweet that the person who purchased the ring has agreed to return it to the Spielman family once both he and the Buckeye legend pass away.
The ultimate goal Spielman has set is $40,000 total so that he can give $1,000 for forty weeks. He has now raised almost half that amount with more items to go. You can follow the progress and bid for yourself by going to Spielman’s personal Ebay page.
