Chris Simms wants to see Bengals send A.J. Green to Packers

A.J. Green trade ideas aren’t anything new, nor will they decrease in number as the October 29 trade deadline approaches.

While the Cincinnati Bengals have already had head coach Zac Taylor swat away the idea of trading Green — it’s rumors season.

For once, the latest notable trade idea doesn’t involve New England. Instead, Chris Simms of NBC Sports loops in Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (h/t Adam London of NESN):

“…I want to see A.J. Green traded, too, but I want him to go to Green Bay. They need him. Go to Green Bay, OK? Aaron Rodgers and A.J. Green, that would be fun to watch. They got (Marquez) Valdes-Scantling, they got ‘We don’t know your name’ No. 81 who drops balls. That would be awesome.”

Any Green trade idea needs to come with a grain of salt. But for those fans who are comfortable with losing him, seeing him pair with Rodgers would at least be interesting.

Green still isn’t guaranteed to play in Week 7, which will probably only work to strengthen trade speculation.

As of now, a Green deal seems borderline impossible, but if a team like the Packers wants to make an offer the Bengals simply can’t refuse (a first and more), things could get interesting in the coming weeks.
