Chris Rock inducted into Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame during Ego Death World Tour

Comedian Chris Rock may be in the thick of his Ego Death World Tour, but his pride may have been a bit stoked over the weekend as he was inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame.

In a private ceremony backstage before a Saturday performance, Rock became the walk’s 37th inductee. He entered the pantheon of “individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination,” the venue said. Rock’s name will join others engraved on a plaque displayed at the arena entrance.

Other names on the Walk of Fame include Bon Jovi, Kevin Hart, KISS, Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, the Mohegan Sun said. The rock band Shinedown was the most recent entry, earning a spot in April.

The Grammy and Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, director, writer and producer was crowned Friday before his fourth sold-out show at the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena by Tom Cantone, Mohegan’s President of Sports and Entertainment Worldwide.

“In a world that needs more laughter, how timely is it to induct Chris Rock, who is now forever enshrined into the Mohegan Sun Entertainment family,” Cantone said in a statement.

This latest appearance was part of the comedian’s Ego Death World Tour.

The Mohegan Sun is located on the Mohegan Indian Reservation in southeastern Connecticut, one of many businesses owned and run by the Mohegan Tribe.

Rock is quickly moving beyond the so-called slap heard round the world, after being clocked by actor Will Smith at the Oscars in February when he made an oblique reference to wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia condition in a joke. Nonetheless, after Pinkett Smith stated that she would like the two men to “heal” their relationship and reconcile, Rock expressed disinterest.

“He’s not concerned with the Smiths at the moment,” a source told ET Online. “He’s touring and he’s preparing for a comedy special.”
