Chris Ramsey to host Little Mix's The Search as new talent show gets set to launch on BBC

There will soon be a South Shields takeover on the BBC with the news that Chris Ramsey will be the host of Little Mix's new talent show for the channel.

South Shields girls Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall are of course in Little Mix and they've enlisted fellow South Tyneside star Chris to front Little Mix: The Search which will soon launch on BBC1.

Revealing all by tweeting a picture with the world's biggest girl group, Chris wrote: "Big News!" and quoted a tweet from Little Mix which read: "Beyond excited to announce @IAmChrisRamsey as the host of @LMTheSearch... South Shields takeover on @BBCOne."

Having sold around 50,000 records and with an ever growing catalogue of huge chart hits, Little Mix want to make the same magic happen for someone else.

The BBC says that by taking part in The Search, contestants could find themselves working with some of the world’s best music producers, songwriters and choreographers, collaborating with other exceptional singers and performing live to millions every week.

A team from the show were in Newcastle at the end of November to host auditions at Stack, so let's hope we get some Geordies on!

The news that Chris will host The Search comes days after he and wife Rosie triumphed at the prestigious Global Awards, with their chart-topping podcast S****ed Married Avoid taking home the Best Podcast trophy.
