Chris Ramsey breaks silence after Strictly exit leaves viewers gutted

Chris Ramsey has posted about his "epic" time on Strictly Come Dancing after viewers have been left gutted by his exit from the show right before the final.

Having made it further than he ever expected, South Shields comedian Chris and his professional partner Karen Hauer finished bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night with a combined score of 54 after their Viennese Waltz and Rumba.

That score saw them in the dance-off for the second consecutive week, but unlike last week, when Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas' casting vote saved them, this weekend it was time for Chris & Karen to dance their last dance as they lost out to Karim & Amy.

Taking to Twitter and Instagram right after the credits rolled on Sunday's results show, 33-year-old Chris wrote "Guys, it’s been absolutely epic!
I can’t thank you all enough for the support you’ve given me  @bbcstrictly. Massive congrats to  @theemmabarton @karim__zeroual  and  @kelvin_fletcher - going to be an incredible final! And all the thanks in the world to @karenhauer. You’re a legend mate!"

from both the judges and the studio audience after the result was made final and there were plenty of others on social media quick to praise him, while being upset that he won't be in the final.

One fan reacted "So proud of the journey Chris went on, that’s what #strictly is about!" and another tweeted "Chris to me is what Strictly is about. A non dancer coming on and giving it their all every week, he’s been a joy to watch making us all smile."

Also singing his praises, a third person wrote: "He is everything I want to watch. I just love him and his massive smile. Not an ounce of fakeness, or a selfish need to further his career, just a love and passion for dance that I’m guessing took even him by surprise. Gutted he’s gone."
