Chris Pratt takes to streets of New York to discover no-one knows who he is

Chris Pratt’s fame apparently means nothing to New Yorkers, who were unable to identify him even when he was stood directly in front of them.

Pratt's ascension from a part in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation to top grossing films Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World has made him internationally famous. His rags to riches story of landing his first acting role while homeless in Hawaii has driven even more interest in his career and he now has almost three million followers on Twitter.

The 35-year-old’s performances even saw him tipped for the role of Han Solo in a forthcoming Star Wars spin-off film, but these achievements failed to translate when Pratt was taken around New York by the comedian Billy Eichner for his show Billy on the Street

Eichner approached people and asked them if they could name Pratt for a dollar - but only one woman managed to correctly identify him. Other responses included “Liam [Hemsworth]" and "Isn’t he from VH1?”. Another excited couple believed they were meeting Josh Duhamel.

One person used the excuse: “I don’t watch TV,” while another could only manage: ““You’re an actor...”

One passerby did remark that Pratt was a "good-looking guy", but when asked who he was responded flatly: "f**k if I know".
