Chris Pratt was shocked to discover that his now-fiancée Katherine Schwarzenegger had a crush on him a year before they first met.
The Lego Movie star was shown a resurfaced interview with Access from 2017, in which Schwarzenegger was asked to name her favourite Hollywood Chris – Pratt, Evans or Hemsworth.
Though the 29-year-old initially expressed a preference for Captain America star Evans, she quickly changed her mind, telling the interviewer: “Actually, Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt’s been looking good lately so, you never know.”
Pratt watched open-mouthed as his fiancée seemed to inadvertently predict their relationship.
“When she said Chris Evans, my heart sank and then she rescued it,” he laughed, before asking the interviewers if “you guys just made that?”
“That’s so sweet. I literally have never seen that before so thank you for showing me that,” he said, before revealing that he’d been “really moved” by the clip.
The couple are thought to have started dating last summer, but finally confirmed their relationship in December when Pratt posted a sweet Instagram tribute to mark his girlfriend’s 29th birthday.
Pratt and Schwarzenegger announced their engagement a month later with another social media post.
Sharing a photo of him and his partner, in which a huge diamond ring was clearly visible, Pratt wrote: “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you.
“Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
Schwarzenegger then re-posted the same image, adding: “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you.”
Proving that she has no hard feelings for her ex, Pratt’s first wife Anna Faris offered to officiate the wedding in her capacity as an ordained minister.
“Chris texted me this morning and he was like, you know, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night,’” she told listeners on her Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast.
“I was like ‘Ah! That’s amazing.’ And I texted him back: ‘Just want to remind you, I’m an ordained minister.’”
Pratt reportedly sought permission from Schwarzenegger’s father Arnold and mother Maria Shriver ahead of the proposal.
