Chris Paul and J.J. Redick participate in Clippers shoot-around

Nov. 19--J.J. Redick certainly looked like someone preparing to play when the Clippers held their morning shoot-around Thursday.

The shooting guard was aggressively cutting, stopping and pulling up for jumpers during the portion of the shoot-around that media were allowed to observe. He showed no visible signs of discomfort from the back spasms that had sidelined him the previous 2 1/2 games and conferred with trainer Jasen Powell before walking off the court.

Officially, Redick and point guard Chris Paul were still both listed as doubtful for the Clippers' game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night at Staples Center, but a final determination on their status was expected to be made much closer to game time.

Paul also participated in at least part of the shoot-around after sitting out the previous two games and three of the last five with a strained right groin.

The big takeaway seemed to be that even if Redick and Paul did not return Thursday, they were getting much closer to playing. Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers were listed as the probable starters in the backcourt against the Warriors along with Paul Pierce, who is expected to take the spot of Lance Stephenson at small forward for a second consecutive game.
