Chris Packham speaks to cops about mystery fox murder and dumping on his property

Chris Packham is continuing his investigation to find out who dumped a dead fox on his doorstep last month.

The 58-year-old television presenter has been a vocal campaigner against fox hunting - and has already discussed how he thinks the grisly discovery of a dead fox on his driveway on December 30 may have been an attack by pro-hunt activists.

The award winning star - who has hated shows including The Really Wild Show and Blue Planet Live - has been submitting evidence to his local police force as he seeks to track down whoever dumped the animal carcass on his property.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Chris provided an update for fans and followers who have been monitoring his progress in his fight for justice.

“Just got back from submitting more evidence to @HantsPolice @WatersideCops about the dead fox dumped at my house,” he wrote.

“Very grateful for their consideration and complete professionalism in regard to this incident,” he continued.

He added: “@HantsPolRural also doing great things round this way.”

Chris shared a photo of himself alongside a member of the police force outside a Hampshire Constabulary building - with many taking the post as a serious signal he will not rest to get his justice.

“Delighted to hear it Chris - I know you won’t be put off! Keep up the excellent work,” one follower commented.

“Nice to see that some police show an interest re fox hunting. Just hope the evidence helps,” wrote another.

While a third tweeted: “Let's hope the police find out who these nasty critters are and prosecute them.”

Chris stunned fans on New Year's Eve when he revealed the fox had been dumped outside his house after he had publicly condemned Christmas season fox hunts - as well as QC Jolyon Maugham for his Boxing Day tweet that he had "killed a fox with a baseball bat."

The Springwatch star tweeted at the time: "It appears that if you oppose the cruelty and illegality of fox hunting and those who club them to death you don’t just get social media abuse. The body of a fox has been dumped at my house," - adding he would be taking his evidence to the police.
