First it was crows, then a fox, now a badger: Chris Packham has had yet another dead animal dumped at his home in the New Forest.
The Springwatch presenter revealed the latest attack with a pair of grisly photos on Twitter on Friday.
“Always nice to get home after a long day at work to a warm welcome at the gate,” he wrote. “I’d be grateful if you have an issue with me and my views if you could express it without killing innocent animals.”
The find has been linked to the 58-year-old’s well-known opposition to badger culling.
It comes just two months after a dead fox – complete with snare injury – was left on his driveway, and almost a year after two dead crows were tied to his gates.
He also claims to have had excrement sent through the post.
It is believed the naturalist, also known for presenting The Really Wild Show, is being targeted because of his founding role with Wildlife Justice, a campaigning group which opposes culling of badgers and hunting.
Last year, the organisation helped force through a change in the law around shooting 16 species of birds including crows.
But, if the new attack was designed to intimidate Mr Packham, it seems unlikely to be successful.
Speaking about such aggression previously, he said it “fuels” him.
He said: “It never makes me angry, depressed, worried, it makes me think they’re doing these things because they’re being backed into a corner and lashing out.
“I’m interested in getting results, I will plough on regardless.”
