In-demand Orlando City forward Chris Mueller has reportedly agreed a pre-contract with a Scottish side - according to reports Stateside.
Chris Goff of the Washington Post claims the USA international has agreed to leave his current club at the end of the MLS season.
That would mean a January transfer for a player who has been strongly linked with a switch to Belgian side Brugge in recent weeks.
Mueller has established himself as a key man for his club and he can play in multiple positions across the front three.
And the reveal will be of interest to supporters of Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen who all likely would have an interest in a player who has two goals in two caps for his country.
Aberdeen have a Stateside connection with chairman Dave Cormack living in America and boss Stephen Glass cutting his teeth at Atlanta. Hibs also have a keen eye on the American market and have been linked with players Stateside.
The potential capture of 24-year-old Mueller would be a real signal of intent for a side hell-bent on shaking up the status quo in Scottish football.
But Mueller's profile appears a more natural fit for the big two in Glasgow who both play formations that hinge on the quality of their wingers.
Celtic have already added Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi while Rangers have signed Fashion Sakala to give Rangers more options in the final third.
