Hibs are set to sign US international Chris Mueller on a pre-contract agreement.
The 24-year-old winger will leave Orlando City at the end of Major League Soccer season on freedom of contract.
Mueller, who has two caps, has agreed a pre-contract with Jack Ross ' side and is set to move to Easter Road in January.
An Orlando City statement said: ‘Orlando City SC and Chris Mueller have been involved in contract negotiations for some time, with the forward’s contract set to expire following the 2021 Major League Soccer season.
"Earlier, Mueller informed the club that he has signed a pre-contract to join a European team upon the end of his time with Orlando City.
‘The pre-contract was signed in line with all FIFA regulations.
‘As noted, Mueller’s contract with Orlando City is valid through the end of the 2021 MLS season and will continue as a member of the Lions’ roster for the remainder of his time in Orlando.’
Mueller has had spells at Des Moines Menace and Chicago FC before he moved to Orlando in 2018.
He has two caps and scored two goals on his US debut against El Salvador.
The American market is one that Hibs have been looking at closely through their US owner Ron Gordon.
The clubs also have a tie up a deal to bring Charleston Battery to the Scottish Premiership.
