Chris Moyles reveals struggle with body dysmorphia after six stone weight loss

Radio star Chris Moyles has opened up about his ongoing “issue with body dysmorphia” after losing six stone.

The Radio X presenter, 46, discussed his struggles with his appearance on a new episode of The Kempcast with Ross Kemp.

Moyles told the actor and presenter, 56, that he is “feeling really fat at the moment” and admitted that he is “fascinated by body dysmorphia.”

“I really have an issue with body dysmorphia, which I think most people do,” he added.

“I've lost six stone from my worst weight when I was 18 stone two.”

Moyles said that he will often train up to five days a week and follows an intermittent fasting plan, but is not as strict with himself at the weekend.

"I don't have the metabolism of an 18-year-old girl or boy, I just don't,” he explained.

“I will, and people don't believe me, but I weigh myself six days a week, and I know you shouldn't and I know it's not for everyone, but I do that so I can learn about how my body works.”

The DJ, who hosted BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show from 2004 to 2012, previously admitted that his early morning radio shifts made it difficult to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Speaking in 2015, after losing around five stone the previous year, he told Metro that he had feared his weight would have a major impact on his health as he got older.

“I'm getting older,” he said. “If I don't keep fit I will be dead by the time I am 50."
