Chris Moyles forced to deny that he is dead after bizarre Twitter hoax

It may not be what he expected he'd have to do when he woke up this morning but Chris Moyles has had to deny that he is dead following a bizarre Twitter hoax.

The Radio X DJ took to the social media site to confirm that he was still alive and well after the hashtag 'ripchrismoyles' became a trending topic.

It started after his Wikipedia page claimed he had died in an "aubergine related incident".

Chris, 45, was quick to dispel the rather strange rumours by tweeting: "I'm alive #moylesisrisen."

Before adding a second message with a photo that had the text: "Chris Moyles 1974 - ?"

The rumour did leave Twitter users divided, with some wondering whether the cruel joke was true and others just playing along.

One tweeted: "Such a tragic accident. May you rest in aubergine heaven. #ripchrismoyles."

Another said: "Chris dies and still continues the breakfast show on @RadioX What a trooper!#ripchrismoyles."

"Listening to Chris Moyles on Radio X this morning. I can't believe he's died and is still broadcasting. What a legend! #RIPChrisMoyles.," commented a third.

One did the logical thing: "I tuned into check @ChrisMoyles @RadioX #ripchrismoyles."

Whilst another was truly taken in: "Had the pleasure of meeting @ChrisMoyles at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny. Sending thoughts and prayers."
