'Chris knows' - Brighton fans speak out as Nottingham Forest seek Glenn Murray deal

Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on a deal to land Brighton striker Glenn Murray as Chris Hughton looks to strengthen his attack ahead of the transfer window deadline.

The Reds boss has worked with the veteran forward during his time in charge of the Seagulls where he has scored 50 goals in more than 150 league and cup appearances.

Forest's problems up front have been well documented this season with Lyle Taylor and Lewis Grabban having scored six Championship goals between them so far.

Murray has an impressive track record at the Seagulls where their fans have been debating whether it would be wise for him to leave the club with Brighton struggling for goals themselves.

We took to Twitter to see what they had to say.

Ivor Gaber: "Brighton in urgent need of experienced striker who can show misfiring forwards how to score and come on for last 15 min cameo but no funds available. Forest want to loan Glenn Murray .... I’ve got an idea!"

Tweeting Seagull: "A possibility that Glen Murray will leave Albion for good this week it seems. As sad as that is, I’d really like this deal to happen, I hate to seeing him go to waste at Watford and he’s just end up doing the same at Albion if he was recalled."

London Gull: "It would be a great move for him, it would be a real shame if he had the last four months of his career just seeing it out and not even getting to the dug out.

North Stand Seagull: "Good move for all parties I think - Chris knows what qualities he brings."

Ben: "Yesterday's game again showed the wastefulness of our attack. He's the only proven finisher we can really trust. Seems unreasonable not to at least try him in the attack. Can't hurt. If he doesn't work get rid."

Wise Buy Ben: "Should have given him a one-year extension at Brighton and used him in situations like this where we need a poacher for 30 mins."

Charlie Gresty: "If only Glenn Murray was leading our front line (or even just an option off the bench) rather than away training on his own. Build-up play good again, but we have no-one who can take the game by the scruff of the neck in and around the penalty box and finish teams off."
