Chris Kamara sends Patrick Bamford message to Leeds United fans as he makes Marcelo Bielsa claim

Chris Kamara has sent Leeds United fans a message on the sometimes maligned Patrick Bamford.

Bamford has featured 35 times in the Championship this season, with Leeds fans taking aim at the forward for his performances on several occasions.

But the 26-year-old has bagged 12 goals and continues to be a trusty member of Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Kamara, who was speaking to Leeds Live as part of the Great Daffodil Appeal, believes that whilst Bamford might not always deserve to start every week, Bielsa's plan for the striker is still something which shouldn't be questioned by fans.

"The thing about him (Bielsa) is that he's old school. If you're part of the eleven and you are fit every single week, you will play every single week. That's how he seems to be," Kamara told LeedsLive.

"We see a lot of teams changing their formation and changing their players. With him, if you're part of his team he has faith in you to play every week.

"I think that loyalty and faith has been shown in some of the players who at times haven't warranted it but at last it's coming to fruition for them.

"I live in Wakefield near Leeds and most of my friends are Leeds fans. One week they are tearing their hair out about (Patrick) Bamford and the next week they are saying, 'great stuff'.

"Football supporters have always been like that with the highs and the lows. It's all about results.

"With someone like Bielsa, he keeps a level opinion on those things. You have to trust him. He knows exactly what he's doing and Leeds fans are beginning to believe that."

Kamara was speaking on behalf of Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal and he also used the opportunity to talk about their fundraising, with the former footballer having benefited from their help when his mum passed away due to cancer.

The 62-year-old is urging football managers and Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday presenters to once again don their daffodils in support of Marie Curie this March.

Kamara added: "I've sent a letter on behalf of Marie Curie to all the Premier League and Football League managers and hopefully most of them will be wearing the Daffodils. All the chaps in the studio on Soccer Saturday such as Jeff (Sterling) and the boys will be wearing them as well."
