- Johnson noted there is no family history of the disease, with his initial symptom being a weakness in his hand.
- Inspired by an interview with Eric Dane, who passed away from ALS, Johnson contacted Dr Merit Cudkowicz.
- Dr Cudkowicz is now providing him with experimental treatment, which Johnson believes has altered the trajectory of his battle.
