The 29-year-old midfielder left the Reds for Aston Villa in 2017.

Nottingham Forest and Chris Hughton are "the perfect fit".

That's the verdict of BT Sport commentator and BBC Radio Five Live presenter Darren Fletcher.

Hughton has taken charge at the City Ground, replacing sacked Sabri Lamouchi.

Nottingham Forest striker Nuno Da Costa has said that the English style of football, plus not playing in his preferred position were two of the reasons he struggled to adapt to life at the City Ground.

The 29-year old will spend the season on loan at Belgian club Mouscron after spending just half a season at the City Ground after signing from French club Strasbourg in January.
