Chris Hughton's verdict on new man as Nottingham Forest boss 'gets it right almost every time'

Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton is not surprised James Garner has adapted so quickly to life at Nottingham Forest.

The Manchester United loanee has impressed in his first three appearances with the Reds to help the club keep up their good form.

Asked if he was shocked to see Garner make an immediate impact, Hughton said: "Probably not so surprised. This is a player that played the first half of the season, not all of the games, at Watford.

"They wouldn't have played him in the team in quite a few consecutive games just because they've taken him on loan.

"They would have put him in the team because he'd done well enough. So it's not such a big surprise. I am really delighted for him though. It's a really good education for him at his age playing at this level in this type of competition."

Worrall displays shows Forest should be braced for bids

Joe Worrall has amassed a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in the Championship which has been owed to a series of excellent performances.

And on the day he helped Forest tick off another point against a Bournemouth side chasing an instant return to the Premier League, a club legend was quick to acknowledge his importance.

“I think since Joe has got back in the team they have looked a lot better,” said Viv Anderson who knew a thing or two about playing at centre-back.

Speculation about Worrall’s future has been inevitable as a result of his recent form amid reports that Burnley and West Brom are potential destinations in the summer.

And judging by the level of quality he is demonstrating right now, Forest should brace themselves for a few unwelcome phone calls once the transfer window reopens.
