Chris Hughes says Jesy Nelson is in a 'good place' after trolling hell but he 'misses her every day'

Chris Hughes has revealed Jesy Nelson is in a "good place" after suffering years of abuse from trolls.

The Little Mix beauty, 28, admitted she tried to take her own life after vile comments about her looks left her feeling hopeless.

Her BBC documentary Odd One Out saw thousands of fans send messages of support to the singer, and Chris, 26, says she's "overwhelmed" by the response.

Speaking to Mirror Online at the Pride of Britain Awards 2019, he said: "She found it overwhelming.

"Bless her she doesn't give herself enough credit, I said this is gonna help so many people.

"It's been amazing, it's helped thousands already she should be really proud of herself."

And while she has struggled, Chris said his girlfriend is "in a good place" right now.

He continued: "We support each other. It's awful when you see someone upset but she's got stronger as the years have gone on.

"She's in a good place right now."

Little Mix are currently on their world tour; with Jesy having to miss Pride of Britain because they were performing in Sheffield.

Supportive Chris has been there as often as he can to cheer them on, seeing nine shows on this tour alone.

The Love Island hunk said: "I'm just there for the shows, I love it. It's a proper show it's not just like a bit of live music.

"She's touring at the moment, she's in Sheffield. I'm missing her, every day I'm not with her I'm missing her.

"I've been seeing her quite a lot."

The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, broadcast on ITV on 5th November at 8pm.
