Chris Hughes revealed his new girlfriend Jesy Nelson leaves him “speechless” after he was grilled about his latest romance live on air.
The former Love Island star was quizzed about his relationship with the Little Mix singer while presenting racing coverage for this year’s Cheltenham Festival on ITV4.
During a chat with horse trainer Luke Harvey, the tables were turned on Hughes when his interviewee asked: “What’s going on with you and this Jesy from Little Mix?”
“Come on, that’s what we want to know, isn’t it!” he continued, as Hughes burst into awkward laughter and appeared to be lost for words.
“You’re squeezing my lemon, aren’t you?” he said, before telling the racing pundit that his new love interest leaves him “speechless”.
“It’s great, she’s a lovely girl and I’m going to bring her to a race one day,” he said. “She’s never been to a race before, I said I’ll bring her back next festival.
“She’s rehearsing this week, very busy schedule these [Little Mix] girls. She’s great,” he concluded.
Hughes confirmed his relationship with the musician in an interview last week, shortly after the pair posted a string of loved-up photos on their respective Instagram accounts.
Speaking on the Kiss Breakfast Show, the reality star said that he is “the happiest [he’s] ever been.”
“It’s official, she’s my girlfriend,” he continued, before describing Nelson as “the nicest girl [he’s] ever met.”
“She’s so caring,” he said. “We just get on like best mates, and that’s the beauty about it.”
The pair were first linked back in January, when they were spotted on a date at a Harry Potter themed bar in London, but it was then reported that they’d decided to part ways after just a few weeks.
They seemed to quickly reconcile, though, and were spotted jetting off to Dublin on a minibreak shortly after.
