Chris Hubbard spotted in walking boot, Browns painfully thin at OT

There was a surprise addition to the Browns injury list on Wednesday. Starting right tackle Chris Hubbard did not participate in the first practice since the Monday Night Football game. In fact, Hubbard was in a walking boot instead of being on the field.

According to Scott Petrak of Brownszone, Hubbard said he felt “something in his ankle” during the 4th quarter of the win over the Jets. He did not miss any snaps during the game.

Hubbard has not played well at right tackle, but the Browns are painfully thin at offensive tackle. Kendall Lamm, the swing tackle, is also out with a knee injury and is not expected to be ready to play vs. the Los Angeles Rams this weekend. Rookie Drew Forbes is on injured reserve.

Recently acquired Justin McCray filled in for Lamm after his injury in Week 1 but did not play well. Both he and Wyatt Teller are guards by trade. The only other reserve OL on the roster is Austin Corbett.

Corbett has been a healthy scratch in both games. The second-year reserve played tackle in college but has been working primarily as JC Tretter’s backup at center since washing out of the mix at right guard early in camp.
