Chris Hoy crash: Olympic gold medal legend in 125 mph smash after terrifying throttle jam

Olympic gold medallist cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy has survived a terrifying crash at speeds of 125mph after his car's throttle jammed.

Footage of the terrifying incidents shows the moment the Scots cycling legend smashed into a barrier after losing control of his racing car.

The Edinburgh-born Olympic champion was competing in a 210bhp Caterham Seven car at the iconic Silverstone circuit, near Northamptonshire, when the crash took place.

It is thought the throttle on his racing car was stuck fully open - just as the cycling hero hit 125mph on the track, the Daily Record reports.
