Warrington Wolves forward Chris Hill showed he was all class after congratulating Jack Hughes on taking the captaincy from him.
Hill has been the Wire captain for the past five seasons but has relinquished his duties in order for Hughes to take the team forward.
During his tenure as captain, the Wolves won the League Leaders' Shield in 2016 and followed that up with Challenge Cup glory.
The pair were co-captains last year, but Hughes has now completed the transition with Hill taking a backseat in order to focus on his performances.
After the club announced the news, 33-year-old Hill took to Twitter to congratulate his team-mate.
In a tweet, the England and Great Britain international said: "Massive congrats to @JTHughes26 being named captain for this year he’s certainly the man to lead the club forward on and off the field. Always at (the) side of you pal."
Hill is entering his tenth year at the Halliwell Jones Stadium after joining the club from Leigh. He has made over 250 appearances in that time and been capped internationally 33 times.
The forward is off-contract at the end of the season.
Speaking of his appointment, Hughes said: "It’s a massive honour and something I’m really proud of.
"Obviously, I understand the weight and responsibility that comes with the role and it’s something I’ll take extremely seriously.
"I’ll uphold the highest of standards at all times – any leadership role would require that – but I’m extremely proud.”
