Chris Hemsworth shares the iconic Hollywood roles he missed out on before landing Thor

Chris Hemsworth has opened up on the major Hollywood roles he missed out on during his acting career.

The Avengers star, 36, has admitted that before landing the highly sough after role as Thor, he was turned away from the leading parts in some of the biggest motion pictures of the current decade.

The Australian born star told GQ Magazine Australia, that he still has insecurities as an actor, despite the fact that he's known as one of the biggest stars on the planet.

These insecurities are not eased by the fact that Chris was rejected by casting agents and Hollywood directors, but it's made him unconditionally grateful because the rejection has ultimately led him to bagging the iconic role of Thor.

Chris also opened up on his insecurities about being an actor, and how he often thinks that one day, it could all just be swept away from him.

On becoming a star, he explained: "You need to have an obsessive approach, just like anything where the odds are stacked against you and it’s a one-in-a-million chance that you’re going to get your foot in the door.

"Once you are on that train, not a day goes by where you don’t think it’s going to be taken away, all of a sudden".

The talented star revealed that he was determined to become an actor in order to provide for his parents who had little to no money while he was growing up in Australia.

Chris knew that if he could hone in on his acting skills and try his best to pursue it as a career, then his family would never have to worry about money again.
