He has one of the most enviable bodies in the world - and we now know exactly what Chris Hemsworth does to get that Thor pump.

Tasked with building and sculpting one of the hottest bodies in the world, Luke Zocchi is the personal trainer behind the star's ripped physique, according to news.com.au.

Set to fly out to Atlanta tomorrow to continue putting Hemsworth through his paces for the upcoming Avengers flicks, he's revealed exactly what he does to get the 33-year-old so built.

"We probably start about three months prior to shooting. So that's when we do our hard work. So basically, when we're shooting, it's just about maintaining it," he told KIIS 101.1's Matt and Meshel in the Morning.

He said Hemsworth trains once or twice a day with the focus on "old-school body building" and basically zero cardio. He says they never train for "over an hour at a time".

When it comes to food, Hemsworth eats upwards of 3500 calories a day, but it's all "clean".

"It's basically six meals a day of just clean proteins and vegetables. And he does still have a little bit of chocolate here and there, I won't lie," he said.

While Zocchi admitted the star does live by the gym mantra "never skip leg day", he said Hemsworth did start pounding his upper body a bit harder after seeing the costume for Thor: Ragnarok.

"Funny story actually, when we did the fitting for Thor 3 we saw the costume and it was just sleeves and he's like, 'Alright we're doing arms and shoulders now - that's all I wanna do'," he said.

Earlier this month, Hemsworth made jaws drop when he posted a video of his intense workout routine with Zocchi on Instagram.

The gruelling video shows the 33-year-old actor doing everything from massive bicep curls to gasping for air as he crawls with bungee cords attached to him.

Ending their chat with the A-list personal trainer, KIIS host Meshel Laurie said what we're all thinking: "It sounds to me that he's still got a life but it's hideous."
